Friends: I currently hold the following AMEX cards: Platinum, BCP, SPG Luxury, and Hilton Aspire. I use them frequently, mainly for travel.
According to the AMEX website, I'm preapproved for their other cards. That makes me wonder what I should apply for next? I realize there's a limit on how many AMEX revolvers one can hold. I don't fly Delta much so haven't applied for any of the Delta cards. Cash Magnet seems redundant given my cash back cards from other companies.
What would you suggest to round out my AMEX portfolio?
If you travel a lot, you probably need a good food card -- the new Gold is great for restaurants/grocery. Try to get the 50 K SUB though, not sure if still available, maybe through a referral.

It's still available. I get it every other time I go to "view all cards" on my regular browser and in incognito mode---and I already have the card!

You could consider the Amex EveryDay card that earns MR points.
The card is not super impressive but it will give you a place to store MR points if you ever decide to cancel the Platinum card.

The BBP and Gold cards are good options. BBP is 2x MR for any purchases up to a $50K annual limit, but it's a good card to pair with your Plat to earn MR's. It's also no AF. If you dine out or buy groceries enough, the Gold card could be worth it. $100 airline credit to help mitigate the $250 AF, + $120 dining credit. The 4x for US food helps, but only if you spend a lot domestically.

On the bright side, the gold card doesn't count against a limit of cards you can have (if that's something you're concerned about) because it's a charge card.
I agree that I don't think you need another card. Just use the ones you have and maximize on their points earnings.
The gold card would be ideal BUT if you think you'd hit 30+ transactions a month the EDP would be great. I love my EDP for the 50% bonus points after 30+ transactions.
