Thinking of applying and curious if they give out decent limits these days or are they more on the conservative end?
hell yea they do if u can pass the 4506t!
seen 20k limits off the bat.

Highest Discovercard limit I've had? $52,000.
And that's not even among the top-ten highest I found on My Fico after I broke $50K.
Of course, like with many lenders, limits like that often take a lot of time and/or spending and a profile that supports it. My card was opened in 1993 and it didn't grow anywhere near that high until the past few years. From my experience, Discover cards start moderate relative-to-profile so if your other cards are in the $3K to $8K range, for example, you'd probably merit something in the middle of that ballpark as long as other credit factors are in-order such as inquiries, new accounts, derogs, income, debts, and FICO. Discover also will grow more easily than some other cards with less spending. Sure, they like to see some utilization but it doesn't seem to have to hit very high usage to grow. They tend to reward loyalty and longevity IMO.

When I started getting back into credit cards after having to join a consumer credit organization to pay off my old credit cards (twice), the Discover It card was one of the first that I applied for. They gave me a $10,000 limit off the bat, when my highest card ever had previously been $3000 I think?
It's now up to $27,500 limit after several CLIs, and combining a second Discover It limit a couple times.
They turned me down for the last CLI that I asked for I think a couple years ago? I stopped asking for CLIs because I was afraid that I'd get on some kind of financial review! It's still my highest card limit.

I got an 8k SL a few months back and I JUST came out of rebuilding. They are currently my highest line.
I can't with them. I've had my IT for almost 7 years and it was at $1200 until a year ago when I threatened to axe it once I got my FF. Suddenly I got an increase to $6300. And a few months ago I got another $500. I have about $1k of autopsy stuff on there every month and they treat me like that crazy cousin no one wants to talk about. Hate keeping all my eggs in one basket tho so... 🤬
Good Lord, not autopsy, AUTOPAY!! And when I say I threatened them... it was all happening within my brain 🤣

Discover gave me a low SL ( $1k) about 6 years ago but DH applied recently and got $8k. He just got an extra $1k CLI last month. I'm not sure if you meant double digits but that's been my experience.
After 8 years, $3k.
Joint account (so a CLI request takes a long phone call) and not a lot of spend.

same amount as my SL about 10 month into my credit card journey. Disco gave me my highest SL by the way(and am using a lot right now for 5% restaurant quarter!)
