On my rebuild Discover was my first good card 3k sl 1 1/2 years post bk7 dc. at 9 months they denied my cli request. at 13 months post they gave me card number 2 at 6k sl
They started me at 11K a year ago, i'm at 18K now.
Currently $21,000. I believe that is my second highest, behind a Capital One card.
As I've mentioned, I'm greeted with wild variation from one company to the next, based on my gambling background/income and no credit history until into my 40s. I've been with Discover for 8 years. For whatever reason they started me relatively high, somewhere in the $8000 range, then continued to add to it.
Right now they are badgering me with a balance transfer offer. One mailer and email after another. I always get a credit limit boost after paying them off. It's been a few years since I used one on Discover. Their system must be going on tilt wondering why I stopped. I used several back to back before halting.
$6k, about average for my profile. Not a super high income, spend or util. Just got some CLIs and other higher limit cards, I'm optimistic that once those have aged a bit and I give Disco a little love they'll bump me up a bit more
My wife, just this week, got a credit limit increase that brought her Discover It card to $34,000.
I'm currently at $44,300. Started back in 2006 with $700. Been a long road.
Discover IT = $20,500 & Discover IT Chrome $13,000 currently.
5k with no CLI....Discover hates me
Personally, $5,400.
A family member had a limit of $10k back in the mid-2000's.
Unfortunately these are all the data points I've actually witnessed firsthand.
Current Discover limit high is $24,000. Started at $5,500 around 2017. Auto increases were more frequent earlier on, but they've also been pretty generous when I hit the luv button. This card has always been one of my highest limit cards (goes back and forth with PNC Core; they're tied at the moment), probably because it's my daily driver most of the time. It gets lots of swipes that they likely want to keep coming.
