If memory serves me correctly, and 10 minutes of thread searching didn't fail me, the last time we had a similar thread was one year ago, SO what cards are in everyone's decks now??
I always love threads like this because it can introduce both new and seasoned members to beneficial cards they may have otherwise not known even existed. Plus, what would we be doing on MF forums if we didn't enjoy talking about our cards? Lol
Feel free to give supportive details about your plastic, such as why it works for you and so forth.
My current (active, not sock-drawered) lineup includes:
-US Bank Cash+ Visa siggy: 5% on water, electric, and internet (definitely has been in my lineup the longest)
-Citi Custom Cash W.E. Mastercard: 5% on prepped food
-My Chevrolet Rewards W.E. Mastercard: 4% everything else (& 7% GM stuff)
-Wells Fargo Autograph Visa siggy: cell phone protection (& 3% on it)
-AOD Visa siggy: my spouse's single go-to credit card for 3% back on his gas, groceries, etc., but it's in my name, sooo... Lol
Thx for the thread I luv it as a novice lol. Absolutely LUV your lineup, pretty much unbeatable for CB
When I first got Cap 1 Secured Platinum on April last year, to August when I got Citi DC, naturally used that one card.
After I got Citi DC on August then CFF on September last year, most spend went to CFF(including 1 year grocery 5%), non category like gym/cell phone/transit to Citi, and car rental to Cap 1(CDW)
Then when I got Savor One Jan. this year, had high hope for Indian Wells tennis tournament as entertainment, but they treacherously coded those tickets as Club Membership so got 1% not 3% when that was pretty much the only reason I apped in the first place! I use this for car rental, plus grocery now(3%) after CFF first year 5% ended last month. Also use it for local Middle Eastern bakery for cookies(3% as restaurant)!
Disco It CB this Feb., naturally for rotators. Used it a lot last quarter for restaurant! My basic smartphone doesn't have tap feature, ugh, so can't tap it via Google Pay(5%) at supermarkets, but can use it on others like Subway using its app, so am eating Subway a lot lol.
CFF from this month, mostly SDed due to toy limit, only using it for Starbucks(Paypal, using app, 5% now, total 7% but I've drank too much of those EXPENSIVE drinks this month hooked by Rewards star system lol, will switch back to much cheaper McCafe, using McRewards app!). Will use it at Walmart(5%) when I travel to SD next month and Florida in December. This and Savor One both give back 3% on dining.
WF Bilt arrives tomorrow, already paid next month's rent(1pt), and it has restaurant for 3 pts, so will use this mainly for that. Travel 2 pts, and since it provides PRIMARY CDW, my car rental goes to this, too. Will use those pts to transfer to airlines(AA).
Citi AA MileUp arrives next week, impatiently waiting to admire the beautiful design Have to meet 3 months 1k for 20k miles sub, so will use this a lot, especially for groceries(2 miles), and will probably buy a ticket to Seoul(not sure though, maybe just charge on Citi DC or Disco It CB for 2% back?).
I'm a very frugal spender with low income(how frugal I used Spirit airline far often than other ones lol the most expensive Delta only once! The only domestic airlines I haven't used are..JetBlue and Frontier. Frontier I booked but it got cancelled at McAllen lol, but their customer svc team helped me book for Southwest, that one was nice. For lodging, naturally lol, airbnb!), those recurring expenses gym/cell phone/bus monthly pass are total $70 lol, so dunno how much I can actually save using 3% vs 2% haha(for 1-card lineup Autograph seems unbeatable though!). 5% maybe lol so US Bank Cash+ is my goal card in the future(why did I cancel the secured one this February, ughh, made ALL the wrong choices )
So right now, especially starting next week, will mainly use Bilt and MileUp for everyday spend, Citi DC for those recurring non category spend, Disco It and CFF for rotators(which won't be much, CFF I'm throwing in SD jail for no-CLI ). Seems Savor One will be SDed as well.
I like reading these threads too! I always learn a ton even if it wont apply to me for several years.
I am still waiting for my BK7 discharge in December so likely no cards for me until January 2023 after the dust settles.
My current lineup is working great and I don't plan on adding or removing anything. It fits my OCD because I have one of each major issuer, and it's ALL cashback rewards, which I highly prefer.
Amex BCE
Chase Freedom Flex
Citi Custom Cash
Navy Federal cashRewards
I'm VERY conservative when it comes to credit cards, which is why, with the exception of eventually cancelling one, my lineup will not change. I had entertained the possibility of applying for the U.S. Bank Shopper Cash Rewards when it becomes available; however, learning about the annual fee nixed that right in the bud.
well, my lineup can change in any minute, but as of right now it is:
* WF Autograph--3% Travel, Cell phone, Tolls, Gas, Dining. Heavy use hoping for a 6 mo auto increase.
* Discover--5% Digital wallet. Use mainly at supermarkets and Gas that accepts DW
* AX Delta Gold--Travel and use the earned $100 statement credit and point for a flight or two
* FNBO--2% Catch everything else. (🙏 that they don't CLD me as it sits at 23k)
👇 I like to diversify + It's becoming a hobby of collecting cards more than anything else. Wallet:
BCP : groceries
citi: dining
usaa amex: gas
AmEx Platinum, Amex Gold, Amex Green, Amex HH, Amex BCP, Amex Delta
Truist Visa Travel x2, Truist Enjoy Cash x2 (4 Truist Visa's total)
Sofi World Class MC
Apple MC
Verizon Signature Visa
Discover IT
GM Marcus MC
SECU Visa
Cap1 QS MC
Citi Home Depot
Lowe's
Kohl's
Target
and 4 other dedicated store cards
I'm on a MR kick at the moment. I want to see how much i can accumulate in a year with business/personal expenses.
Daily use- Amex Bbp
Food/takeout- Gold Amex
Hotels/ etc. - Plat Amex
Ive socked most of my other cards at the moment - besides keeping 1-3 visa/Mastercards just in case Amex isn't accepted.
I prefer a smaller number of cards (easier to manage) with larger credit lines. This is what I have:
Amex Platinum - NPSL
AmEx Gold - NPSL
BoA CCR MC - $45k
NFCU Flagship Visa - $41k
AmEx BCP - 45k
Amazon AmEx Biz - 30k
BoA Unlimited Cash MC Biz -21.5k
I carry my Amex Platinum, CCR MC, NFCU Visa, and Amex BCP in my wallet. The business cards and Amex Gold are put away since I got the Amazon Amex just for Amazon, and I only got the BOA business mastercard because they offered a $500 sign up bonus.
I am very happy with what I have, and have no plans to apply for more, just work on increasing my credit lines.
