I received all of my accounts back in Nov '13. Chase SWA $5000 starting CL just increased to $7500 today, Cap 1 $300 starting increased to $1800 April 5th, and now for the GE Cards. Wally starting $600 increased to $800, Sam's Club starting $937 CLI denied. I even added a Marriott Rewards card in Feb '14. No clue what all the uproar about GE is, but if there were any fee involved with either of those cards they would be canceled. As for now, it's off to the SD for the GE cards.
Don't feel bad OP...
I've had 4 GE cards ($7500 Care Credit, $500 Chevron, $500 76, $600 Walmart) for 6 months each... used monthly and PIF monthly except for the first 3 months of Walmart when I carried a 0% promotion balance... then PIF since.
You know what I've got out of the deal? Walmart gave me a $100 auto CLI last week.
Gee thanks... $100.
I've hit the luv button on my 2 gas cards and get the same canned response denial letter with a soft pull credit report from November 20th. Makes no sense.
I can get a $1000 increase from Barclay but get $100 from GE. Whatever.
Of the cards that are backed by GE, are there any that tend to have a higher limit? Like you have a $7500. Care Credit limit while the others are in the $500-$600 range. I think I've noticed that people post that their Lowe's limits are pretty good. Haven't seen anyone say they only had a $500. limit.
This link might be helpful. It has a list of cards that are backed by GE -

Well Lowes was a flat denial for me. I guess I should be happy just to get anything with GE. They might as well be AMEX to me. Lol

Don't feel bad walmart denied cli for me many times until just recently i was sort of shocked when i clicked the button.
I had a couple of AMEX cards included in my BK (at least $50k). The only thing I can get from them now is a free pen when I fill out an app in the airport and then that app is declined
For my JCP card that I mentioned, I called the back door number while in the store one day. Tried to get an extra hundred dollars to cover a purchase and they said no. The following month I received a $200. increase then another $350. a few months after that. Just when you think you have the credit world all figured out, there are curve balls covered with pine tar thrown at ya.
Ya GE is weird.... LOL! I tried a few times to get my Walmart Card increased past 5K and i get denied and the letter says i've reached the max limit, which i guess maybe the store card does have a 5K limit, i mean i'm not really planning on buying something at walmart for 5K it's just nice to go higher since its a soft pull.
I plan on using my Paypal Extras Mastercard enough to get some good useage for 4 months and see what i can get for an increase...... Do I dare ask for 8K or 10K when the time comes?
GE has been great to me, I've gotten credit limit increases every 4 months from all of my GE cards (except CareCredit but I don't bother with them because I know it's a HP), good luck.

That's not really that long ago. 5 months. If you can get a CLI that's great, but realistically I think as a community we feel entitled to things too quickly. I'm sure that with some usage and on time payments you will get your credit profile where you want it.

Same here. I just called credit solution and asked to speak to UW, they told me UW is never available and she would have to sumbit it over the computer.
(On both of my wally and amzon). is this true? I mean I have heard many people got their cli's through the UW.
Anyhow, I hav had my wally and amazon since 6/13, with same opening limit of 400 and 700.
Granted my wally only have 3 statement cuts, but amazon's been reporting balances 4 months st8 and still nothing.
Mine's going to SD as well.
@john398 wrote:Are you using your Wal-Mart card much? GE seems to like heavy usage
I for one, dont like making multiple payments on my measley 400 wally. Its not worth going through all that junk.
But I do wanna raise tho....
@Involver wrote:GECRB is no fan of mine, either. I did manage to squeeze a single $600 CLI out of my Amazon store card which I used to use heavily, but that was it.
I too use my amazon fairly heavy I would say with only 700 limit.
But still no cli....since opening 6/13.
@DrZoiberg wrote:GE likes heavy card users who max out the cards every month. Especially if you don't PIF every month and carry a maxed balance. I feel like their system of CLIs is to encourage their borrowers to spend more each month by increasing their CL. I have the Amazon store card and did heavy usage in college and got 3-4 CLIs, I haven't touched it in 10 months and did a CLI request and got denied.
yea but there's only so much u can buy at walmart tho
