Buttttttttt on second thought, I may just wait. My AAoA is pretty low and I am against AF. None of my current cards have an AF and I don't even NEED a CLI, I just want one!
I have only had my AMEX for two years so I have not had had the courage to ask for a CLI.
It could possibly help your AAoA. A new Amex will not report as a new account. It will be backdated to the year you opened the Blue.
Oh wow, really? That would help! Now I am thinking about applying again, lol.
Even if it's a new account and not product change, it will be backdated to my Blue year? That would be awesome.
Also, please note that I already have over 20 accounts.

Yes, it will report as the old account with the same date as your blue. I think I have close to 68 or 70 accounts and I stopped counting them when I crossed 50 or so.
OMG! I am in awe! Oh what the heck, guess I'll pull the trigger. Will report back shortly.
Declined.
But thanks for all of your help!!!
Of course approval depends on how your reports look overall, but yes, any subsequent Amex will have the same opening year as your original card.
Another thing to consider is that if you can wait until January, you'll actually gain an extra 10 months of age. A card opened now will be dated 11/07(?) - or whatever year the Blue is - in Jan it would be dated 01/07.
sorry, didn't type fast enough

At least you tried and did not cost you a hard inq. Wait for few months and try it again. Normally they clear all the declined app info in 4 months.
