@RBFool wrote:My limits and info is my sig but the summary: CH 7 BK dismissed May 2014. I'll be showing a 20% utilization in about 10 days and I planned to app after that.
My QS card's statement gets cut on the 5th so I was going to app on the 10th.
I'd like a balance transfer card as I have to buy some big items on my QS and I wanted to move it to a no intrest card. I burned chase in my BK so not sure what I could get let alone with my scores. My thoughts for a spree:
Sallie Mae
BT card if I have a good chance?
Discover IT (Just cause)
Citi Double
I'm interested mostly in cash back cards as I don't tend to travel but maybe once a year and don't do hotel stays otherwise.
My thought is after I get the new card(s) in my hands I was going to get rid of my Cap 1 secured card as well because there's even less of a reason to have it after I get more. Plus my shopping cards if I can get more than 1-2 new cards.
Let me know if I missed anything vital as far as info for recommendations. It's been a while since I posted
You may want to see how your change in UTIL will affect scores. With your current scores, I actually wouldn't recommend applying for any of the cards on your list.
Well that's not the ray of sunshine that I was hoping for... What cards do you suggest I do apply for? Trying to just rebuild etc and grow a better AAA

If you're trying to get into Barclay, then Rewards or Apple would give you better odds. If you're considering store cards, you'd have a broad range of options.
I got back into AMEX when I was in the 670s. I was probably in the 680s when I got upgraded to Macy's AMEX. For me, the mid 600s led to some nice CLIs on my store cards, at least. I think you'll definitely see better approvals once you move up a bit scorewise. Are you working on any other credit issues? UTIL could actually make a huge difference, if the rest of your profile is clean.

The biggest "issue" that I have is the ch7 BK. The rest seem to be reporting right as far as "included in bankruptcy" or are in good standing because they're my new cards. I can't make it anymore "clean" than it is. I don't "care" about getting in good with Barclay but I do want the Sallie Mae card. So if the rewards or apple card would get me there then I'm willing to do that for a year to see if I get what I want. As far as the discover card it was more of a "Rounding" out of my profile. I don't think I qualify to apply as a student IT card but I'll take a look
