I requested a CLI in December 2017 to change my limit from $3,600 to $10,800. What is the highest limit I can request in June without triggering income verification. I'm currently an intern making $19/hr.
I've heard anything from $30K to $35K (not a range, some say $30K others say $35K) will trigger the IRS tax form. Amex will of course factor in your annual income and other obligations into a formula to decide if you can handle that much credit.
If you are comfortable asking for it, I'd go with $32,400. A 4506-T request is quite YMMV. Then you will have one of three options:
a.) Jump up and down with joy. Write new thread in approvals.
b.) Submit the 4506-T to allow Amex to review your 2015-2016 tax transcripts. Wait. Wait some more.
c.) Use the back button in your browser. Ask for a lower amount. Repeat as needed. Rinse thoroughly. Hand wash only. Do not microwave. Store in a cool dark place.

How successful is b for students who are interns?
No idea on their underwriting decisions. It would probably depend on what was reported as income, and if that was very low compared to what you are reporting now it could result in a denial.

What you make per hour isn't really relevant, it's what you gross when it comes to income. $19/hr if you're working 15 hours a week is a lot different than if you're working 40 hours per week or if you're working 60 hours per week, etc.
What is your current EX 08 score?
I'd personally say go for the 3X CLI and if you're prompted with IV, hit the back button on your browser and go with $30k. If that doesn't go through, repeat the process and back down your amount by whatever increments you want. In the past I've gone down in $1k increments, but if you aren't comfortable with that you could go $30k, $25k, $20k, etc. until you see an instant approval.

^^Precisely what I plan to do in 5 months Went from $4K to $12K after 3 months, plan to ask for $35K, if that fails, $30K and downward I go!
It's just a gut feeling, but I think you're more likely to be hit with a counteroffer than a request for income verification.
