For bills, you can look into the Ink cards. It doesn't cover all bills, but they do give 5% back on cell, landline, internet, and cable tv and 2% on gas. And the Ink+ can transfer to travel partners and has no FTF. So it makes a good travel card.
Mostly movies and dining.
For movies and dining there's the Marvel card. It offers 3% back on dining and movie theaters as well as other entertainment. Though it's not a travel card.
"Select entertainment categories include Movie Theatres, Video Rental and Game Stores, Theatrical and Concert Promoters, Amusement Parks, Digital Entertainment, Games and Software, Music, Books and Newsstands, Toys and Hobby Stores"

You still need a business for that.....
Yes, I should have made that more clear in my suggestion. Sorry about that OP.

I think he's waiting for his util to report as 10%
@kdm31091 wrote:A lot of people recommend Ink+ and don't mention that you need a business to qualify. While the "business" enforcement is somewhat lax (less lax now really), I wouldn't suggest lying just to get the card. It is not a personal card; it's intended for business owners.
With your 79% utilization OP, I think the last thing to worry about right now is a new card. Applying with that utilization is just going to either net a denial or a $500 limit at 24% APR, etc. There's just a time and a place for applying and this is not it.
In the spirit of answering the question for a future app, 2x on dining can be had with a Chase Sapphire Preferred, and the points can become lucrative for travel plans. Research redemption though -- not all travel plans will get you a good return. This is just an example, but you need to also make sure you'll spend enough to justify the annual fee. Amex's MR program has several cards with category bonuses, such as the Premier Rewards Gold which does groceries and dining at 2x. All told, you need to narrow it down to more than just "travel". Where do you want to go? How do you want to get there? Where do you want to stay?
I don't know why the Thankyou Preferred is even worth considering. On its own, it's at best a 2% dining/entertainment card, 1% everything else. You can redeem for travel, but with the Preferred alone, you get no boost on value by doing so, so it's still pretty weak.
That said, again, OP, I don't feel this is the time to be applying for anything.
I agree ..
In terms of the Preferred it is a 2% on entertainment card which can be used for travel unlike a 2% card that I know of at least ... I would more suggest a premier because its 3X on travel 2X on entertainment and dining and can be used for AA flights at a discount.
@Random_idiot wrote:For someone with my spending habits of:

rest on entertainment.
lets say with bills and entertainment! I spend about 24k a year.
what kind of rewards card would be most beneficial for that?
Lets ignore credit scores.. And go strictly by the most rewarding card.
Barclay Cash Forward, Barclay Rewards, Capital One Quicksilver, Chase Freedom or Freedom Unlimited, Amex Blue Cash Every Day, Synchrony Marvel.... to mention a few.

Meh If you want a 1.5% CB card you might as well go for the 2% and go after the Citi DC or the Bilspay ...

Sounds like Citi ThankYou Preferred is for you, 2x on dining and entertainment, 1x on everything else. However there aren't many domestic flight options in the program so take a look to see if the partner airlines are what you're interested in. If not then CSP would give you what you want but there's an annual fee and idk about approval with those scores
Well, once my cap1 CLI + payment gets processed, my utilization will decrease from 76% to less than 10%, so I am expecting a hige boost in score.
I just need to know what kind of card I should be aiming because I dont want to apply for cards that are useless and just drive my AAoA lower than it needs to be..

Well, like I said.. 79% uti BEFORE i paid. Now im just waiting for my card to report so i can get the updated score

Thank you for replying. Very informative. However, I made a payment where my utilization is brought down to 10%. (originally my 79% was with my old cli of 750 from cap1) they not only increased my limit by 1k, I also made a payment where its now less than 10%, just waiting for it to be reported and reflected on my scores. its been almost 2 weeks since the payment and my cards usually report between the 5th-10th of every month.
it does suck that on creditscorecard, they only refresh the score once a month (16th for me), so lets just call my scores 'pending'

Thank you for clarifying about the uti. Yes I am waiting for the new uti to show, and for my scores to update which is why I wanted the scores to be ignored, so I know what kind of card to aim for. Sometimes it seems like there is a bunch of cards, and the choices gets me overwhelmed. My main thing is that I do not want to go on a random app spree where I apply to useless cards with useless benefits.
I would like a card that I can use points to redeem travel. Thats my main thing. I eat out a lot and go see a bunch of movies. So rewards for that would be helpful, and I do travel 2 times a year for leisure, so something that would give me benefits on that would be nice as well.
I would say minus the travel, I spend about 12k a year on movies and dining, and 12k on bills (I have no mortgage; paid off home in full). That being said, I doubt it would make sense on getting cards with high AF as I would not spend enough to make it worthwile and same for revolving 5% cash backs..
IDK, what do you think? What kind of card should I aim for?

I understand that, but once you utlize that and cancel, you cant check it again for 1$ right? I want to save it for when I decide to get a loan from a bank.
I did that on here just to check scores, and now I dont get any specials..
