I was just approved for my first Amex Delta gold card with a 3k SL. I also have a bkcy on my cr
Was this your second card with Amex? If so, how long ago did you open your first account?
1st Amex revolver was the Everyday, $500 SL, EX 700. Applied 1-29-16 (No mention of credit steps)
A week passes....
2nd Amex revolver was the BCE, $7,000 SL, EX 700. Applied 2-5-16 (its $21,500 today)
Go figure. I closed the Everyday immediately after getting the BCE.
I had 15 student loan lates, all between 30 -120 days late. (with the most recent late being Dec. 2014)
I had a closed car loan account with some lates, between 30 -90 days late from 2014.
No BK.

First card was a BCE with a $4k SL. Two months later I got a 3x CLI to $12k. Two months after that I applied for an EDP and it came with a $20k SL. Since then I got 4 more revolvers and 3 of them came with 5 digit SLs. I love Amex.
My first card (May 2017) was a BCE with $15k SL. I almost fell out of my chair as the app was when their pre-qual site finally showed me pre-approvals for the first time after 6 years post discharge BK7, Amex not included. With that SL and carrying a 10% utilization balance during the 15 months 0% I've never asked for a CLI.
This February I was approved for an Everyday card, $6k SL. As I did a BT to it & it has 15 months 0% so I requested Amex move $4k CL from BCE to Everyday so my anticipated $4k balance would be well under 50%. Instant approval, now BCE is $11k, Everyday $10k. I also love Amex.
