I got an Amex recently so when it will it report to the credit bureaus?
Mine just started reporting after the second statement this weekend. But AMEX has been known to take longer.
All 3 of my AMEX cards have reported on the 2nd statement like clock work.
+1 to the others.
It appears to me that Amex works things based on the statement due date rather than the date the statement cuts like. This is the way they will post any rewards to your account. In order for the rewards to be valid, it must be from a period in which you have paid at least the minimum. They can't verify that until your statement due date, which is why your rewards are always a month behind with Amex.
I have a suspicion they apply the same logic to reporting. So, when your first statement cuts, they don't report it right away. On your NEXT statement date they will report the first month, including whether or not it is paid. As far as I can tell with my Amex, the reporting is always the month prior to the current statement.
Thank you for this. I was wondering the exact same thing and what was the cause of the delay. I also noticed that when I applied for my Plat a month ago, they must not have pulled my credit report as I never got a hard pull recorded. An HP should report immediately, right?

yes
I was approved for the card late February, and they haven't reported anything yet. I was going to post this same question.

@Anonymous If you were denied for the Platinum it'd be a SP since you are already a member. You didn't say if you were approved or denied.
I was approved. I already was a member via my BCP, but figured they would still do a HP. If so, I would have guessed it would have showed up already?
