When to request credit limit increase for U.S. Bank Altitude Go?

My last credit limit increase for my U.S. Bank Altitude Go was September 23, 2022, which was soon after getting the card. U.S. Bank bumped by $2k starting limit to $10k, which I appreciated. However, I prefer to have all my cards with credit limits at or above $25k so I plan to request another CLI when the time comes. Another reason is that U.S. Bank pulls TransUnion for CLIs and I have only one hard pull for TransUnion that was for the initial U.S. Bank CLI. It seems as though TransUnion is rarely pulled for new credit card applications. I think that I read somewhere that one has to request a CLI, specifically for U.S. Bank, not after six months, but sometime in the seventh month. Given all of this, when should I make my CLI request for my Altitude Go? Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me out.

Just for DB, I froze Experian and requested CLI on U.S. Bank Co branded card for 5K CLI success with no HP.

Had the card for a year and that was my 1st CLI request.

I got my card 10-14-2022, I just got off the phone with USB asking when I should ask for a  cli 6th statement or 6 months from account creation she said account creation, so I would imagine 6 months from last change would be a safe bet.

Thanks, @Beefy1212. That is what I have gone by for other cards, but, I believe, I was told something different by another poster on the forums. Unfortunately, I cannot remember what she had told me. I hope your CSR knows what she's talking about!

FWIW, I just attempted a cli on my connect yesterday. The account has been open over 7 months now. I have only generated 5 statements. My new recent purchases were not in time for the 6th statement deadline. I immediately got an alert they attempted to pull my TU. So nothing happened. It's been said end of 7th month many have had a successful cli with a soft pull. Must also be that 6 statements had to of occurred. That's my experience thus far. Maybe you shall have better luck.

For my recent Cash+ CLI my reports were frozen and I waited for my 6th statement to cut but not 7 months like I had also heard on the forums. The CLI went through on a SP.

Thanks a lot @Traveler101 and @Lou-natic. I am sure what you both posted about is something similar to what I had heard. So, it seems as though it is probably important to wait until after the sixth statement, but not necessary to wait until the end of the seven month, correct?

The whole "7 months" thing is for people that don't know when their statement cuts. If you know, then you know. If not then wait 7 months "to be sure" as they say. I think it's ridiculous myself but some people err so far into caution you wonder how they ever leave the house. Not my style but I digress.

Thank you for clarification. I was always under the belief 7 months. There has been more mention of that versus the 6 billing statement to have occurred. I was under the impression as long as end of 7th month, good to go. Thanks again. I will try again next month as my 6th statement will be generated. Wish I would of had a better insight. Live and learn I guess.

Re: When to request credit limit increase for U.S. Bank Altitude Go?

@Lou-natic  or anyone else, I have (hopefully) two last questions. I apologize if it seems I am too much in the weeds.

My last credit limit increase was approved on September 28, 2022, but I received an email from U.S. Bank congratulating me on my credit limit increase on October 14, 2022 so which date do I use? For the "after 6 statements rule" and assuming that I use the September date, would that count my October 2022 statement, as the first of the required six, with an Open Date: 09/10/2022 and Closing Date: 10/11/2022?

Thank you to everyone who replied to my post and questions. Enjoy the weekend.
