Which Amex to CLI?

I'd like some opinions as to which AMEX card to request my next (6 mo) cli? I have the Delta opened Jan 2012- orig cl $2k, went to $5k @ 61 days, then got the BSE in June 2012, cl $2k. It's now been 6 months so I am eligible to request a cli on one of them. Thoughts as to which one would be most beneficial in the long run?

Re: Which Amex to CLI?

I would go for the CLI on the Delta as that could potentiallly give you a card with a CL above $10k.  As has been posted here, higher limits tend to beget higher limits.  So if you were thinking of applying for a card with another company in the future, having a CL above $10k may lead to higher initial starting limits.

Good luck on that 3x CLI request.  Please let us know what you decide and the outcome.  Smiley Happy

Re: Which Amex to CLI?

I would try and get the Blue sky at $6000 so you have another card at or over the $5000 thresh-hold and then 6 months try for a $10,000+ tradeline.

Re: Which Amex to CLI?

If you don't need the extra cl, I would go for the bce.
If you plan to app within the next 7 months, I would go for the delta.

Bump the delta to 15K. (3x CLI)

Move 5 k (limit transfer) to the blue giving you 7k, and then in 6 months move the blue to 21K.

6 months later, move the Delta to 25K.

@They actually went from 2K to 5K @ 61 days for their Delta.

I say request a CLI on your Delta to have a higher trade/credit line reporting. After one year AMEX will allow you to move/combine your credit cards. Just my two cents

Re: Which Amex to CLI?

Well, thanks for the input, although it's all moot now. I requested a cli on the Delta from $2k to $5500 & it came back declined. You could've knocked me right over with a feather. I am SO unbelievably confused and disappointed. Ugh. My credit health has never been better than it is right now. I have 2 balances on only 2 of my cards (each at 17% util which equates to 9% util across the board), yet I got declined. Wow. That was certainly unexpected. The automated response said something about being declined as a result of Amex's risk model? Yup, now I'm frustrated.
