NFCU cards. 91/3 you can grow exponentially with them if you have the income and DTI. Plus you can get a second card then too. I went from a $3K card in September to having total exposure of $15,200 in December — and my income is only $18K.

For cards that can grow ,high income is super important. No way are people getting those huge limits with Boa based off their credit score alone. Not everyone can go from a 15k limit to 45k like that. Smex may grow fast but they use alot of factors to determine if that person should get that kind of increase, imo.

As always it depends. In my experience, Discover and Amex are the quickest growing, but at the same time, once your profile is at a point where you're getting acceptable starting limits than it really isn't that big of a deal. Beyond that, CLI underwriting and policies change. Once generous companies become stingier and vice versa.

For the sake of your question I would say Discover, Amex and BoA overall are typically generous if your profile supports. That said I think there are many factors to consider with applying for new cards and potential CLI is only one of them, and a pretty small factor unless you're getting $500 limits. Make sure the product fits your lifestyle. You don't want to end up with an otherwise worthless to you card that just has a high limit but no practical use for you.

True i got a SL of $15,000 on my amex hilton ascend , 2 days later YES 2 DAYS LATER lol I requested a 3x CLI which i thought would get denied because I had just been approved for the card . Within seconds of hitting submit BOOM "Congratulations!!!" 45k limit!

Wow, that's a first.  I can't say I've ever heard of that happening.  It honestly sounds like a glitch, unless others have heard of a 3X CLI happening 2 days after account opening?  Congrats on that, for sure!

How often does that happen? IMO, a $3k SL is a little peculiar for Amex, indicating concerns that may take time to abate.

Maybe if someone has a very thin file and a good income...

Not sure how often, but I've seen it referenced in threads, including the Amex 3X CLI thread.  No doubt that it will only happen to profiles that support it.

Heh, not really.  It's been reported in a variety of past threads inclusive of the AmEx 3x CLI megathread.  @Anonymous also started a thread a while back on his success.   I was able to do the same thing on 3 AmEx revolvers, 2 last year and 1 the year prior.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Got approved for $1K on my Cash Magnet as my first AMEX, decided to ask for the 3X a few days later. Hadn't even gotten the card yet and it was approved.

Yup, my file isn't so thin & I already had relationship with amex , always pay off in full . I'm guessing that is why my cli was approved for that much.
