Why can’t I balance transfer to checking acct ?

I have a balance transfer offer from discover it. Card has been open for more than 14 days.

I don't have the option to do a balance transfer to a checking account.

I have my disco checking acct linked, and added as a payment option.

is it because I haven't yet made a payment to the disco card? I made a small payment today to test it.

Somewhere in there there's an option that says mail checks to me. Use it.

I only see an option to add a creditor before continuing.

I'm looking for an option to have it go to my checking account rather than a check made out to a creditor.

Its my understanding not everyone gets this option. As time goes on Discover may offer this option but if you dont have it you might only be able to actually bt from actual accounts  for now.

Are you sure there wasn't a screen *before* that? Like maybe you accidentally swiped/clicked twice and skipped it? Here's what I see prior to what you're seeing:

Regardless, have you tried using a web browser instead? It doesn't have to be on a computer--if all you have is a phone, use a browser on it to go to their website and see if you get a different result.

I will triple check but no I don't remember seeing that screen before. I scanned it several times. I have done it both on a computer and my cell.

Then there's probably a limitation of some sort for you, as suggested upthread. Maybe when your account is older it will open up as an option.

My disco is in the 5th year. I never had that option before. Maybe it is only available to older accounts who had it before. I have only seen this, transferring into checking option in my BoA

As @AverageJoesCredit pointed out, some balance transfer offers don't have the option of transferring it to a checking account.

Re: Why can’t I balance transfer to checking acct ?

In the past month, I've had offers (with Disco) that have the option, and I've had offers that did not.

There may be an internal definition on which is what, but it's not one that I could discern (the rates and terms were pretty similar).
