Why does it take SO long to get the card?!

I did a "product" change to AMEX Blue on November 8 and I still have not gotten the new card yet! I also apped for a store card on the 9th and have not received that one either.

Now I know they say 7-10 business days (most of the time) but why does it even take that long? The way I figure it, it should take 2 days to process your information, 1 day to actually print and ship the card, and 2-3 days for the post office to actually deliver it to you. And in that case, even the post office is open on Saturdays so what the crap? Honestly, it's a 3x5 plastic card--I'm not asking for a hand-painted duplicate of the Mona Lisa.

I want my cards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your theory would be great if you were their only customer. They do not start printing your card as soon as you are approved, your information go through so many other processes before they even create the card. 

Technically it has only been 9 business days and then there is the holidays that is going on, so the mail is slower than usual around this time of year.

Oh yes, and not only do you have to wait weeks to GET the cards, then you wait months for them to actually report to the bureaus...

I have been very excited to check the mail to see if both my newly approve cards arrive....I am sooo excited...not that I am going to use that much credit for the holidays...I just want them in my hands!

No kidding on the waiting. I am on day 10 of my wait for my amex, pin came 2 days ago. I just know that the bastards stalled it long enough so that I wont get it until monday so that I cant use it on friday lol.

Boo! Hiss! No fair.

I already checked my PO box and no "Blue"...maybe I will get lucky and my Express (store card) will be in the residential mailbox when I get home from work today. Yes, I think that would brighten my spirits a bit.
