So I opened a amex blue business card recently and got a 15k instant approval. I logged into my account today and I noticed my personal amex blue card credit line has been cut by like 8k. I don't know if that is a recent thing or it happened awhile back. I never use the cashback card. Does anyone know if amex will cut a credit line on a personal card when you app for a new business card? In the end I still get more credit because the new line was almost double the amount they took back, but I would like to know for fujture purposes. I kept the amex blue open just for account age and credit util purposes since it has no AF.
Actually I just went through my mail and found a letter from amex that came today where they said they did exactly that claiming they wanted to make sure my business credit line is sufficient so they pulled money from a card I don't really use to add on top of the credit line they were giving me. Guess I am at the ceiling with credit with amex.
How Funny same JUST happened to me...I opened the SPG Business card, was approved did not know my limit as it was not an instant approval, it took a day, anyway I got the card today and when setting it up on line saw I got a 14,000 CL, I also noticed they took 4,000 from my personal Blue Sky I had 10,000 now 6,000.....

Yea this proves that if you PG your amex card that your personal credit lines are factored in as well.
