I didn't go for a premium AMEX. Maybe I should have but I decided on an entry level AMEX, the EveryDay Card... I was preapproved for the Green, Gold, and Everyday.
I just went in with the attitude to get my foot in the door. I think I can always look for premiums down the road.

Thanks for the info. Are the green and everyday considered to be on par with one another? I've never carried a balance on a card, always PIF, but I like to know I could if I needed to, which would make me prefer the everyday. But if my odds are better with the green, I'd probably go that direction. I remember my dad used to love his green Amex. He took such pride in the fact that it was paid in full every month lol.

I picked the EveryDay Card because I don't want to pay a fee. I'm cheap like that. $95 a year for the Green with the first year at $0. I imagine rewards are better with Green but they aren't important to me. I guess it depends on what you are after.

which card to go for depends on what you want cb in form of statement credit, or MR points, or spg points.
I would do Blue Cash Preferred as I believe it has the $150 bonus which will ofset the AF and then next year if you find you don't spend enough in Grocery and Gas, etc to offest the fee you can downgrade to the Blue Cash Everyday which has no annual fee (that's what my partner and I did)
