For those who have both Amex NPSL charge cards and revolvers, how do your Check Spending Powers compare to each other? (Not POT feature)
I have 1k personal, 5k biz revolvers and a biz gold, checking spend power I'm approved for at least 2.25k, denied for 5k. So I can charge about half of what I can revolve
I know it's not a button to be played with but I have some spend coming
When the time is right for you to pull the trigger you can call them and explain the spend and ask if they will approve it for that card.
As you said, the check spending button is not meant to be played with. Since NSPL varies over time based upon your recent spend and payment history the best way to automagically increase your limit is by regular higher spend and regular prompt PIF.

I don't have any large purchases coming up, so after a discussion a few days ago on the same subject, I decided to play with the button that should not be played with - but only one time; I didn't want to trigger any fraud detection by escalating. I should have tried for more.
I have $64,500 in personal revolvers and $10,000 on a business revolver.
If your spend fits within that $2K you should be fine. If you need more then i would call and explain the circumtances, BBP and Blue Cash have the spending over your limit feature. So IMO those are good ones to have if you don't.

12k personal and Platinum, 2k biz
i checked a couple weeks back for 25k spend on BBP and it was approved, havent tried more. Any balances past 20 i get nervous to pay down anyways so it manages to work out.. Denied beyond 2500 on Platinum, and Revolver check spend doesnt matter as you can't even go $1 over the limit (for me and some others at least)
Craziest thing.. i ran only about half the amount i charged and paid on Platinum thru BBP.. so def dont understand it but im cool with it
When my Gold was my main spender (I've gone all cash back since COVID with only occasional spend on Gold now) and it was used as my main card on my most recent vacation about 10 months ago, I checked spending and it countered my $75,000 with $55,000... Well in excess of my credit limits then or now.
I checked on my Amex Gold card and they approved 95k. I've had this card since 93. No idea how they approved that since the most I ever put on it was 20k. I wonder if Amex pulls a soft pull and checks limits on other cards. I have cards with limits between 33k-120k
