received the new card and it wouldn't activate, discover took 2 minutes to get the new card activated. So another day with out the amex.
discover is the king of costumer support with out a doubt.
What do you mean "it won't activate"? How are you trying to activate it? Online? Over phone? Did you talk to an agent and they couldn't activate it? Did they say why not (e.g. your information wouldn't match, etc.)? Please give us more details.
I'm not a big wearer of costumes, so unfortunately can't identify with your concerns.
Serious though, give us some more detail on your woes with Amex. Why wouldn't it activate? Did you call them and what did they say?
they sercurity code wasn't working even though i was giving them the 4 digit code on the card. That was the problem and why it couldn't be activated. i tried to activate online and then via chat, i never call i won't deal with a company that prefers for you to call.
well yeah i agree. i just forgot to say how they dealt with it. They are overnighting me a new card. So if this ever happens to anyone else. Just ask them to do that.
I'm trying to see why you think some technical error you had with a credit card is indicative of declining customer servive. I don't see the logic. Plus they are expediting the new card, so its seems to me they are doing everything right from a customer service standpoint.
just because of the allure of american express wouldn't you expect your new card to work right away. Discover is way younger and there card activated right away with zero problems.
am i wrong?

You're experience with AMEX was a one-off. It doesn't happen often. Most cc's do activate immediately. If you were more experienced you would know that.
