amx reward dollar change?

So i see there was mention of how amx changed the redemtion to anything over 25 is ok, but i just noticed what i think maybe another slightly less favorable change, i could be wrong though.  so my statement cut a the end of oct, and i noticed i had $65 in rewards ava, so i figured i would just short my statement balance by the 65 and do a statement credit and the balance would be 0.  i logged in today to see where i am at for nov and i see i still have a $65 balance from the oct statement.  chatted 2x and got the same response the statement credit will be applied to the current statement balance and not the pervious statement and has already been deducted from the total account balance and if i dont want to be charged int on the 65 i have to pay that before the next closing date.  i thought i did this in the past (shorted stmt bal by the reward to pif)but they are claiming this is how its always has been, not a big deal and i will just pay the $65 but i was like **bleep**, i thougth they applied payments and credits to the oldest balances or highest aprs first, guess not, they wouldn't budge on this said pay it or pay int on it.  so just be aware of this if you weren't already

Re: amx reward dollar change?

I belive what you are describing has always been there.  My T&C state that reward statement credits can not be used as a payment but do reduce your total balance.   So if a statement cut with a balance, you need to PAY that balance to avoid any interest charges.

The only way I can see you not having to send the $65 is if you haven't charged anything since your statement cut.

They are correct. I've seen people report this, complain about it, and/or close accounts over it for years.
