On a positive note, Citi has been great for me. Sorry OP that you had a not-so-stellar experience with them. TheConductor hit it right on the spot though....IMO.

Sorry to chime in with negativity😁
I thought you would say you hate GE because of the recent axe.
My experience with Citi hasn't been exactly positive either but it is what it is and there's nothing much I can do about it (too lazy to write complaint letters lol).

I applied last week six card and got approved five of them and got declined from citi and reason was too many inquiries so I called for recon this morning 3 times I said good morning how are u mask she even didn't bother to say anything so ignoring and I talked to supervisor she said they can't change their decision what a helpfull people I ll never ever appply or make busineess with citi again
Citi is a tough one, at least for me anyway. I have been denied twice over the last year and a half. I would wait until those new accounts have a year of history or the next denial could be too many new accounts.
BTW, congrats on the other 5 approvals
Like AmEx, Citi has treated me great ova the years
But, unlike AmEx, IMO Citi's CC line-up & reward structure SUCKS!!!
For me, Citi credit cards division, with the exception of their executive office, has neither been great nor horrible. They're just okay. They get things done, but it generally takes more time / explanation to get anything resolved. I find that many of their CSRs are either poorly trained, uneducated, or just couldn't be bothered to help.
However, the executive office and Citigold has been great. Whenever I run into any issues that couldn't be resolved in 1 phone call by normal CSRs, the EO and Citigold were able to get it done pretty much right away after 1 simple phone call. Currently the only credit card I have with Citi is the TY Preferred (0 AF card), so it's possible that I am delegated to the "lower tier" CSRs.
On the plus side, Citi do seem to be pretty generous with CLs, at least for me. I was able to go over my CL by 50% too and my transactions were not declined. The best part is that payments are instantly processed and cleared as long as the money is being drawn from another Citi account. Paying at 11.59pm EST right before statement cuts? Not a problem!

I have been lucky enough to not have to call a CSP for any card in a long time because of an issue. I am not looking forward to any issues, but I am curious to see how the Chase CSP number works to resolve issues.

I'm not one to call CSRs regularly nor do I like having to call someone to get stuff resolved. Usually I prefer doing it myself on the computer if it isn't too complicated. Calling is more inconvenient having to turn down the volume and then sit through the phone call not being able to watch my TV or do anything else that requires attention. I don't like being put on hold, and it gets even more frustrating when I end up wasting time with a CSR who knows nothing.
I've only tried calling Chase about 2-3 times, and everything is spot on. It was really just a 1-3 minute phone call and they got everything resolved. Nice and easy, and I'm back to doing my own stuff with minimal interruption.
Citi has been pretty good to me but they're known to be inquiry sensitive.
OP probably ended up picking cards that pulled the same agency. At least the other cards gave good limits!
Downside of any app spree is looking desperate but a lot of people keep going until someone says no. I'm pretty conservative with inquirie and haven't applied for a new card since Jan 12 but am considering the Discover IT. Won't happen until scores bounce back from mistakenly letting balances post on a few cards.
