No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
So we are on a road to recovery. I have been approved for a small credit card of $250. I have read that you should have only 1-9% utilized on your cards. But 1% is $2.50 and 9% is 22.50. If I am building my credit what is the Maximum I should use on this credit card? I plan to PIF every month.
Try using the search feature on the website. There was a thread just yesterday posted regarding what you are asking.
arditr, Really? I understand how to use the search engine, however their is so much on this web site it is often hard to get what you want. I have been a member since 10/20/14 my stats are showing that I am reading. this does not include that times that I read not logged in.

Mountainmom, So what you are saying do not PIF the credit card every month?
use the card as much as your income supports, PIF before or after the statement cuts, make sure you are always making payments of far more than the minimum payment, the UTL only matters when you are ready to AP for another card or try for a CLI. Some people have had luck with repeatedly maxing out the card and PIF often, for 2-3 months then contactacting executive office and requesting a CLI, stating that the limit is just too low, and you hate making so many payments to use the card.
You are focusing your energy negatively. Focus it to search instead. Stats don't do anything for me, sorry. Again, like I said this was just posted yesterday.
if you use cs or ck they claim the magic number is 30% or less /card util. hope that helps
This card is from Capital One, They have in writing after 5 on time payments they will do a CLI, now I don't know if thats going to be $50, or $500 increase. My income would support maxing out the CC. I am only going to use this on things that I already pay Ie: Gas, bills, etc. If I PIF after the statement post will it report to my credit report as being utilized?

In order for you to get as much CLI as possible from them, you'll have to use the card heavy. I was literally just told that, even though I put around $500 every month, and that's conservative.
