Re: finally out of debt management(care one)

I have a few lates for Cap1(May 2010 30 day) Chase Freedom (3 months late cuz of this program Jun 2010-Aug 2010) and Barclays( still open but late from Jun 2010).

I will be calling them to try to goodwill these accounts and remove the lates and possibly keep my freedomg and cap 1 open.

However i rlly want to get my foot in the door with AMEX and I have been using my debit card and cash for purchases for the last 2 years and its about time I earn some sort of cash back or rewards for my spending. These accounts are now paid off in full to $0.

Re: finally out of debt management(care one)

I am not sure how Amex usually reponds to a few lates.

Good luck with getting them to goodwill some of those lates

Are the scores you listed in your signature myFICO scores?

Re: finally out of debt management(care one)

Yes they are Myfico scores from here. Macys removed my lates from 2010, I will be calling the others for goodwill. I hope I get lucky. Macys did it in 20 seconds on the phone it was fast and easy and I have the letter from them.

Re: finally out of debt management(care one)

Congratulations!!!! I will wait at least 3 month before applying for any credit cards or credit products. Make sure all your reports indicate that your accounts are paid as agreed and the comment "account being managed by a credit counselor" is removed. If the creditor refuses to remove the comment don't worry about it does not affect your credit score. I will stay away from Amex though I was denied for their zync card and the only reason was accounts being managed by credit counseling.

Re: finally out of debt management(care one)

WOW really man? they deny because of that? even though i finished 3 years early? 9800$ debt 2 yrs ago to none as of today. I havent shopped for a new shirt/tie since then and I work in a corporate owned store, its been very hard but i just wanted to get out the program,,thought it would help.

I still have that comment on all the CCs that I had in DMP and no lender has cared about it since DMP.

IMHO I would leave it be since you don't good TLs delete from your CR and if the account is still open, you don't want it closed.

AMEX would more than likely decline for too many recent lates. I'd give it another 6 months and go for it then!!
