Well, I can tell you the way I did it. I kept a Chase visa & Citi Mastercard for 20 years keeping utilization low and never missing a payment. If I had to guess (the veterans will also help), relax with the new cards and clean up the collections. Best of luck

Yes, lots of dedication to ones finances.
+1 to the advice on cleaning up collections, that should help. Also lowering your %util will make creditors less nervous about giving CLIs. After you done this and gardened then I would focus on getting CLIs where you can from your existing creditors.
* Clean up that collections mess (7 collections?!)
* Get your utilization down
* Close Totoal, HSBC, and Orchard (to save money on AF).
