how to use IHG points

So this might be a silly question.........Once I get the sign up bonus for the 80k points on my Chase IHG account, how do I redeem them? Is there a way to value the points or a way to figure out the best way to use them towrds a hotel stay?

You redeem them through the IHG website. When you search for rooms, you can search for multiple rate types. One rate type is reward nights (paying with points). You can only book one reward room at a time, so if you want to get two rooms for one night, you have to book the second one separately. Also watch out that some IHG hotels only allow a very few award rooms per night.

Personally, I find it's so easy to earn IHG points through promotions, or buy them on sale, that I'll book an award night if I can get 0.6 cents per point.

Don't forget to search for 'pointbreak'.

PS if you opened it within 3 month do a search for 'match to 100K'.

lets just cut to the chase so to speak here, https://www.ihg.com/intercontinental/hotels/us/en/marseille/mrsha/hoteldetail@ -- 40K a night, look @ the flipping room pics and views, my god.  pm chase now and get a 100K match, add an au for 5K and download and log into the app 9/1 for another 500

I totally agree! My goal was to start off with the IHG CC, then move on to the Marriot, and then to the Ritz, but with the images you posted, I'm thinking, who needs the Ritz! Absolutely gorgeous pics, and one day, I will definitely splurge and go on a luxury vacation.

Yeah I'm working on bonuses on the IHG, Wyndham, and Hilton (soon) cards for a swanky anniversary vacation next year.

Some of those IHG properties look amazing.  The yearly free night makes it a great keeper card.

Keep in mind that Platinum and Spire status aren't meaningful at ICs.
