I would like to start increasing my limits on a couple cards and want to know the best way to go about it
i currently have
credit union visa card 10k limit 8K balance
home depot x2 5K balance 3.5K balance (2 yr 0% int)
victoria secret (with wife) 0 balance 500 limit
paypal mastercard 2000 limit 0 balance (recent auto CLI)
discover it 4600 limit 2900 balance (couple auto CLI's)
chase CSP 8500 limit 600 balance
b of A cash rewards 5000 limit 1K balance (recent CLI from 2K)
Cap1 quicksilver 1000 limit $400 balance
I have a credit line through alaska USA 5K limit 0 balance. also have a mortgage and a couple car payments. I also have a couple other installment accounts. I do have a closed acct (PIF) from B of A from 4 years ago that they wont take off, ive tried and tried! and a couple 60 day lates but PIF from years ago as well. I havent made a late payment on anything in 4 years (since I started taking credit seriously). I want to get my limits on my cards up, not that I need the credit just for peace of mind mostly. Whats the best avenue to take? Discover and B of A credit tracker has me at 705 and 712 FICO. but still says serious deliquency from the closed account i assume. I can easily pay off the balances on most cards (except the 8k). What other info do you guys need to help me?
i recently asked for CLI on cap1 and paypal mastercard, both have had 3 statements cut and cap1 said acct too new and waiting for response from paypal.
You are probably going to need to reduce some balances before you are going to have a lot of luck with CLI's. Discover has been good about growing with me, but I'm not sure you will have a lot of luck until some of that balance is paid down. Most of the companies don't' really like to grant additional credit limits when you already owe them.
What are the limits on your Home Depot Cards?
$500 with 0 balance and $5000 with 3500 balance.
quick question
Discover recently auto increased me another 1K, i went in the same day and asked for a cli and they offered another $200, i cancelled obvioulsy because I am seeking a higher cli. will it hurt me to accept the $200 now? can i ask again next month for another cli?
