I agree, I don't see what you get out of this, and again, if you're going to mess with a lender like that don't be mad when they aren't very nice to you. They're lending you money because they assume you will be responsible with it, not out of the goodness of their hearts.
They don't owe you anything, and quite honestly it makes me mad that you sit there and mess around with them with tiny BT's and talking about redeeming Capital One rewards for tiny amounts to screw them up. Don't take advantage of things. Why not just be happy with what you are able to get? Unless I am missing something I don't understand what you get out of this, either.

There is a certain lack of ambition lurking in these statements.
There are two kinds of people.
Givers, and takers.
I understand what you mean, but your ambition shouldn't be to mess with lenders who have extended you credit, nor should it be to "take" for the sake of taking.
Accumulating rewards? Redeeming them? I'm all for it.
Crazy tiny BT's and tiny meaningless reward redemptions? Not so much.

Oh. I know the lil BT's probably mess with their heads. If I do BT's I do them right. I use numbers with comma's in them.
Meaningless reward redemptions, Why not though? You earned them.
I guess because he implied he was doing it just to screw with Cap One, that left a bad taste in my mouth. If you want to redeem 0.05 in rewards, whatever, but it just seems petty to do it "because you want to mess with them". I dunno.

I agree it's kinda silly, lol.
I had to reply to the two statements in red though.

Yeah, and it doesn't even benefit the person doing it. It just wastes time and energy and focus, all for the purpose of pecking at some corporation that's not going to be harmed at all (though its customers might be).
I have applied for a discover 7 times over the past 2 years, no dice due to a paid tax lien. I see others have gotten in with BK and Liens but they won't open an account for me.
I have decent scores and utilization is around 13%. Wrote letter to EO, received a call and text message that they would not be able to open an account for me.
Its okay though, because other creditors like Chase, American Express, and Citi like me.

Regardless I'd anyone else found it funny or not I did that's all that matters. .....I wanted no pity for discover being closed. ....I considered them useless long before that I get 1% from credit unions
Even paypal business debit gives 1%
