Re: please sum up all discover dislike in this thread

Its true that Discover seems to skip a month of reporting whenever you get a CLI but they are accommodating about reporting when you request an off cycle update to the bureaus. All you have to do is ask. I'm not waiting until March for my CLI to show up knowing I have this option Smiley Tongue

Ok I got one. Is it true that when discover gives you get a CLI they don't give you your fico score the following statement. If so that's annoying how else will I know the effect it has on my score. I hate waiting.

Erm, which one is the following one? I just got an unsolicited CLI on my Discover and it's showing the score on the first statement with the CLI showing under Credit Line.

I guess I will just have to wait and see. Sorry folks I tried to come up with something negative to say. I wonder how long a cap 1 thread would be by now.

It will show on the Discover statement but when you look at your credit report you will find the former CL for nearly two months so the new CL will not be considered in the Fico score.  For all of my CLIs the month I received the CLI the 3 CRA still had the old CL. Only the 2nd reporting after the CLI the new CL made it on my reports.

Good info to know.  I like that Chase also does off cycle reporting for 0 balance (just had it happen to me, kinda extends that grace period for reporting purposes).

Your absolutely right it would read like just another cap1 thread.
I too wouldn't mind a higher cap on the discover card. I spread my spending out pretty well so it hasn't been an issue yet.

Re: please sum up all discover dislike in this thread

Discover gets a lot of crap, but who knows, it may still exist in a thousand years.  I mean, Fry tried to buy undies with it.

Fry: Do you take Visa?

Clerk: Visa hasn't existed for 500 years.

Fry: American Express?

Clerk: 600 years.

Fry: Discover Card?

Clerk: Sorry, we don't take Discover.

In all seriousness though, I like Discover.  Their customer service is out of this world, and frankly they gave me a chance when others wouldn't so they're a-ok in my book.  I treat them right and expect them to do the same for me for many years to come.
