Hello,
I am looking for clarification. If I make a payment on my statement closing date, will the payment apply to the current statement or the followin statement? For example my billing cycle is 6/9-7/8. If I make a $100 payment today will it apply to this cycle?
thank you!!

This will likely depend on wheather or not a payment posts instantly or shows as pending. Some of my credit cards will post payments immediately, but most do not show a lower balance for a day or 2 after the payment is made.
When you make your payment, the Web site should tell you when the cut-off is for same-day. If you make it in before the cut-off, it should apply to your balance before the statement is cut and the statement will reflect the balance with the payment considered.
Here's an example from Chase:
This implies that the date you pick is the date the payment is applied. If you pay after 8PM Eastern, it'll be applied to your balance on that date but won't be reflected elsewhere until 1-2 days later.

+1
With my cards only one posts instantly the "Citi Double Cash".
All the others are a couple of days.
