Actually, you are putting words in my mouth. Just like your comment here:

But I just choose to ignore your comment.
I am neither pro debit card nor anti credit card. And I have never said so. Not sure why you are putting words in my mouth other than to cause trouble.
My only comments on here have been to clear up LIES.
1) Bank accounts offer ID theft protection
2) Cash Back Debit Cards exist.
I don't see that anyone has been spreading lies. For one thing, a lie implies a deliberate attempt to mislead, which I sincerely doubt anyone here is doing. That being said, while bank accounts do offer ID theft protection, many people prefer not puttting their checking accounts in a position to be exposed in the first place. This is a matter of individual choice and comfort level.
CCnewCC makes a GREAT point, why would I use the debt option ( enter my pin) when my bank debt card is visa branded and works like a CC. Being that I have never had a Rewards bank debt I did some digging. One of the posters here posted three banks that offer cash back debt cards.
just to touch base the rewards on all three of these options don't even come close to what some of the higher end CC rewards lines offer but lets just say discover 5 percent cash back VS. 0.10 per swipe at one bank plus swipe fee on debt card like I said it averages 0.49
But ! as CCnewCC pointed out just use it as a CC well low and behold two of these rewards banks don't give you the rewards if you use the card as a credit card which is kinda lame...
If someone could also let me know will let say, my wellsfargo debt/visa give me the extended protection if I swipe it as a CC ?
i just cant see why someone would chose a debt/cc over a CC that has rewards i think i am missing somthing here on the debt rewards program that makes them = or better to the CC.
1. Rewards
2. Rewards
3. Convenience
4. Security
5 Rewards.
I mainly use them for the rewards. If it's something I need to buy anyways might as well get rewarded, then I pay it off. Also, CC transactions are insured so in terms of ID theft it is easier to resolve. I have had my cards cloned on 2 occasions and it only took about five days to get the charges removed. With the Debit card they are taking money out of your account and in some cases that might not be insured.
I use credit cards for several reasons:
1. Debit cards don't build credit history.
2. Credit cards offer a buffer between the outside world and my checking account in case someone manages to hack my card. I don't want anyone to have access to my checking account.
3. I earn rewards from credit cards, which are very rare on debit cards. Debit card rewards are almost never as good as credit card rewards as well.
4. Some credit cards offer incredible savings through their Shop programs, like ShopDiscover, which you simply can't get from a debit card.
5. I can get 0% financing by using balance transfers on some of my credit cards. If I have a major purchase that I can't PIF immediately, I can still purchase the item. Debit cards don't allow for this.
It took me a long time to trust credit cards and learn to use them properly, but it really has changed my life now that I have.
1) Rewards
2) Credit Score
3) It's fun
