Starting April 23.. Discover Credit will track purchases at Gun stores ..Other CCs have said they also will track.. but no specific date
I'd bet they're already at it... SO much happens in the background before we know it.
@7774x What does this mean, can't we buy ammo and/or guns with Discover card?

No. The TL;DR is that payment networks are planning a restructuring of merchant codes where new codes are being created specifically for vendors categorized as primarily dealing in firearms and ammunition. Visa and Mastercard had already announced they plan on doing it.
Timing of implementation may be in question as several (currently 5 I think?) states I believe have either filed or announced plans to file in federal court to block the changes due to legal concerns regarding the collection, access, and usage of the data collected.
As a reminder we need to be mindful of discussion as politics is one of the things we don't talk about here.

He's talking about politics in relation to gun rights, policy, and laws. Apples and oranges.
I'm surprised this isn't already a thing

Unless they are going to give you more rewards for purchases there is noting they can do!
As long as guns and ammo are bought legally I don't see any issues with this. Government knows who has a permit and what they are buying!
Imagine a 5% reward card for buying guns! 😂
Cash+/Max Cash 5% sporting goods category.
