2ND Factact Free Disc Inquiry through ACR

I wanted to update everyone who has been having issues with the 2ND FACTACT FREE DISC inquiry when you pull a TransUnion report through annual credit report. The top executives at the credit bureau and their legal team have thoroughly investigated concern on their end and here are the results. Annual credit report is showing as a soft inquiry on the TransUnion side. Because they are reporting the information correctly on their end the inquiry will not be removed from the consumer's credit profile. They have told me to take this up with MyFico. I also received a copy of my credit report right from TransUnion & the information is accurately and reporting correctly.

So here is now what is being done. I left a voice message and sent an email to Tom Quinn. He is the VP with Fair Isaac that is over FICO scoring for the consumers. I also copied & pasted the same issue from other members from the forum board in the community section of MyFico. So something is still not right. We need to find out why a soft hit on the credit bureau side is triggering a hard hit on the MyFico side.

So for those that are affected by this problem please be patient. I will forward any updates when I receive a reply.

Re: 2ND Factact Free Disc Inquiry through ACR

My assumption is that the Annual Credit Report inquiry is listed under this section:

"The listing of a company's inquiry in this section means that they obtained information from your credit file in connection with an account review or other business transaction with you. These inquiries are not seen by anyone but you and will not be used in scoring your credit file (except insurance companies may have access to other insurance company inquiries, certain collection companies may have access to other collection company inquiries, and users of a report for employment purposes may have access to other employment inquiries, where permitted by law)."

The only possible reason I can think of, is that TransUnion shared the inquiry to MyFICO/CreditKarma/etc., which are third parties. If the inquiry is intended to be a soft inquiry, then TransUnion should not share it with third parties, but the end result is that they did share it.

Also, you may consider reaching out to Annual Credit Report if you haven't yet (in the next screen, choose "Other", then "TransUnion" and "Other"). If you mail to them, you may attach portion of your TransUnion credit report directly from TransUnion and MyFICO.

I get this since last June - on CCT, Credit Karma, Wallethub...  I disputed with TU a few months ago, and was told that they see this as a soft pull.  But whenever I check on other sites, it is showing as HP.  Once it disappeared for a couple of months and camb back.
