72 pt increase on CK

I know they are FAKO, but it was still exciting to see my TU score go up 72 points, and that was with the addition of a collection (that I'm disputing because the CA said they would not report), EQ went up 58 points putting me at TU 726 and EQ 710 - how I wish they were real.

I'm not positive why my scores went up on there, I paid off a collection that just updated, but nothing has been deleted.

Re: 72 pt increase on CK

While an entry is in dispute it is not factored in to the score. If they come back and confirm the entry, the dispute notation will be removed and it will factor in again. When / if that happens the score will drop back down.

Oh I just started the dispute today after updating my CK reports, so that score is with the new collection factored in.

Don't just consider FAKO versus FICO.  Consider relevance.  There are creditors that use VantageScores.  However, if you don't have creditors that use a TU or EQ VantageScore 3.0 then CK's scores won't have any relevance to you.  Same applies even to FICO models.  Every creditor/product does not use the same FICO model even though FICO 8 is the most commonly used model.

To determine the cause(s) of any scoring change you have to carefully review report data from before and after the change.  Don't assume that all scoring changes are due to additions or deletions.

They are real.  They're just not FICO's.  In any case, don't just obsess over numbers.  Focus on the data in your reports.  Good reports will lead to good scores.
