Re: AAMS

Google and find whychat's site for HIPAA info site.  You have to pick thru it carefully and see what you can send to OC being that the account is already paid to CA.

Re: AAMS

Ok, I am reading about the HIPAA letter and I am so confused.

Are CA not allowed to report medical collections once they are paid?? Are OCs not supposed to be sending ANY of your account information to CAs?

I just do not know what I would send to the OC, I could threaten them with legal action but they would laugh in my face. I do not have the money for a retainer (sp?) anyway.

(FWIW, I sent in payments to the CA but I always wrote the checks out to the OC, does that matter?)

Re: AAMS

I think it's more on your side that you wound up issuing payments to the OC yes.  Being that you have already paid though makes this a little more complex but you read the entire site including the complaint link.  I don't want to have any TOS issues for linking to it or quoting from it.

Re: AAMS

UPDATE:

I never received a response from my emailed GW's, yesterday I sent one to the COO of the company. Today I pulled my reports through NC and the collection is OFF MY EXPERIAN REPORT! WOO HOO!!

The CA was only reporting to Experian and TU so I will pull again tomorrow and hopefully it will be gone from TU as well!

GW WORKS! Don't give up!!

Re: AAMS

Congrats!!!!

Yes GW works, but knowing when and how to take it higher helps even more.  Don't worry if it is not as fast for TU, it doesn't mean it's not in progress.

Re: AAMS

Thanks for all your help Smart Cookie!

I just wanted to add that this collection had been resold and was "opened" as of July of this year. Yesterday my EX score was 623, today it is 673.

Re: AAMS

If they don't get back with you , you can dispute it...stating that they have not given you any information as to what it is about and you don't know if it's valid or not...That's what I would do...
