Am I in the clear (30 day late question)?

I think I recently paid one of my credit cards 31 days late for an August payment. However, for August, my credit report shows "OK" for all 3, and for September, only Experian is "OK" but the other two are "NR". This is really making me anxious as I am applying for an auto loan next month.  I would hate to somehow get denied as I really tried to build my credit profile over the past year and I already have two 30 day lates from last year.

Edit: I should also note that my paid balance is reflected in my utilization.

Easy. Call the creditor and ask. If so. Plead your case why and see if they'll forgive the late. Dont waste time. Get on it.

Agreed....calling now versus having to contend with it once it's reported is a lot easier...

I had this same thing happen to me a couple years back, as @FireMedic1 said, it is a much MUCH better idea to call them and be sure/get ahead of it if nmecessary. In my situation it would have reported had I not called them, but by getting them on the phone I was able to avoid the 30 day late on all 3, and one of them just stayed "NR", but I didn't want to poke the bear so I just left it.

Re: Am I in the clear (30 day late question)?

I guess I'm just a bit confused because it looks like the amount I paid earlier this month is now reflected in my utilization, and Transunion says that they made the update on 9/8, 5 days after I made the payment.  If I paid 30 days late, I assumed that it would have been marked as such.

Don't call anybody, last thing you need is bringing attention to this late payment.

You're not in the clear yet, if another reporting cycle happens and it's not reported, you're probably safe.

Do not dispute anything on this account in the future unless you absolutely have to. Often things that slipped through the cracks show up during disputes, sometimes a person will dispute a single late but it turns out they were late multiple times, and then, all those lates make an official appearance.

Of course, if you had fraud or something like that, dispute away, but no frivolous disputes

Should late payment be reported (hopefully not), that's when you'd try GW approach, but being late then proactively calling to tell them you were late is a recipe for disaster.

Re: Am I in the clear (30 day late question)?

Yeah that was my concern as well, especially if they already reported it as being okay.

So here's where I'm at, I actually paid it at 30 days.  My bill was due Aug 4th and I paid Sept. 3rd.  The only thing is that I think I paid it after the cutoff time. It says my Auth Date was September 3, but "Made on September 4".  Then they reported on September 8.

When I checked my report, I didn't see it, EX had "OK" for it, nothing in the other bureaus, but that was also the same with my Chase and Discover cards (which I paid on time).  And also my balances for everything updated in the utilization. I also checked my new statement and the payment was reflected in that as well.

I really hope that I'm okay here, I worked really hard the past couple week or so to bring my utilization down, and got two collections off my report.

Easy way to tell would be if your new statement charged a late fee and interest.

Well good news is that no late fee.  Interest yeah but that's because I carried over a balance.  So that's normal.

also I went back to my statements when I got the 30 days and it looks like it always hit when I was two statements behind. Not the case here.
