Re: PayPal Credit 7/20-7/24 2019 Synchrony Takeover

Has anyone tried the new CLI option on the new website? I just tried it and was denied from increasing my PPC limit from $4100 to $6000. This is the first time I've ever been denied by Synchrony... and I now have 3 accounts with them and previously got them to increase my limits by over 50% (e.g., $5000 --> $8000) on other accounts... granted, those were completed via chat. Not sure what they pulled but I believe they use Transunion, in which case my score was 700.

Also, can confirm it is a SP.

I tried a CLI on the 24th. Was at $1,250 and asked for $10,000. Approved for $4,000. I think $300 is the highest spend I have put on this account since it opened in 2003. Can confirm CLI was a SP. No reporting yet.

Interesting, did you do this through the chat, or through the website? Did they give you a counter-offer after requesting?

Re: PayPal Credit 7/20-7/24 2019 Synchrony Takeover

Aftering learning the CLI is a SP, I logged back on and asked for an increase from $4k to $9k.  Approved.  Darn, should have asked for more.  I have used my acct a lot but never had a balance above $1k.

Re: PayPal Credit 7/20-7/24 2019 Synchrony Takeover

I called today to make another payment. I set a goal to pay the account for by September because that’s the first date that was thrown around

I reached a call center again. The rep and their supervisor don’t know anything about the credit reporting issue.

I also wanted to make a payment with my debit card. The rep told me that the automated system was now accepting debit cards. I thanked him for the information and said that I’d use it next time, but that I was fine making a payment with him since I was already talking to him

His reply was..”thank you for your kind words m’am. I will transfer you now”

Re: Paypal credit up and running

I had seen people talking about the possibility of accounts reporting the date that Synchrony took over instead of the true original date it was opened. I saved a copy of my first two statements before the takeover/merger and will dispute unless my account reports the true date it was opened. I don't need a brand new account skewing AoAA and AoYA due to Synchrony being lazy and reporting INACCURATE information. I have a feeling everything will be okay but you never know with these companies.

Re: Paypal credit up and running

So, I applied for PPC just last week, and today I got an alert showing a new account. When I logged in, it shows the account, credit limit, and balance (in my case, zero). So bummed!!! I guess it’s definitely not a hidden line!!!! How unfortunate, this is the only reason that I wanted it. I’m just glad I didn’t use it.
