I use to TC (I'm new to the credit repair game though) because a lot of people praise it not so much for accurate scoring, but for the fact that you can pull your reports daily to see changes and then pull your FICO scores here if you feel the need to get more accurate scores because of what you see on TC. I also prefer their side by side by side reports for easier comparing.
IMO, the side-by-side layout is one of the most useful things about it.
It won't hurt your FICO's. The pulls create a soft inquiry, which is not viewable by lenders and isn't included in scoring. Kinda embarrassing when you pull a full report that does show softs, and there they are, taking up 2/3 of the screen.
When you are in the phase of actively managing your credit, and working on problem areas on your reports, you can't beat having daily access to your reports. This also saves you from paying for your FICO's when the CRA's haven't updated yet. They seem to periodically go into alternate universes where they forget to enter any new info for weeks and weeks. TC (and others) will let you see when they finally snap out of it.
Lots of changes on reports do not affect your scores, and now that I'm attempting to exercise restraint, I try to wait for an alert from Scorewatch before pulling my FICO's again. And I really like the discount on EQ scores, after you use your two pulls that are included in the fee. One sort of clunky issue is that if you use Credit Complete to pull all three scores, the EQ portion is not discounted. Not that this seems to stop me.
A lot of people think (justifiably so) that this level of obsession with scores is crazy, including the amount spent on it. But we don't have horse racing where I live, which is my only other potential vice, and I figure that I've piddled away money on a lot of other less justifiable things. One Scorewatch subscription and one TrueCredit subscription are enough to make me a FICO wild woman, I suppose. Next step, church bingo!
