When is the right time to remove your child as an Au? I've been removing DD when she gets approved for the same card but leaving the others also been thinking of getting those closed au accounts removed from her reports do you think her score will suffer? She's been getting denied for a few cards because they are counting the au accounts but we agreed she's done at least for a year and will just let the two she has grow. I was thinking of leaving 3 au accounts so she can have a total of 5 and was able to azeo and because that's what Experian recommend.

How do you know that that's the reason plz?
Because Apple and amex said that the balance compared to limit is too high ( overall utilization is 2%) or to much debt for her income.
Okay, I had wondered about that myself with my youngin's. Thank you.
The credit utilization of 2% is that only on the cards she has on her own (excluding the au accounts). Remember the the AU accounts the authorized user has no financial responsibility for. She would get a FICO score after the account has been opened for at least six months. All the AU accounts can can do is potentially distort the score. If it were me I would remove all the AU accounts. There may be factors you may want her to have one your credit cards just in case of a problem. You need to have her build her credit slowly of time. I started years ago by applying for a store card I got that card. Several months later I got a Visa or a MasterCard. Thirty plus years have passed and the maxiumj number cards I had open at any one time was 7. Today I have only 4 with enough credit to meet any of my credit needs. The process takes time and patience.
