Authorized User question

I am adding myself on my wife's card as an authorized user.  It is 0 balance and been in good standing since 2002.  Never been late.  On my credit i have about 3% utilization.  I am also adding another card that she has and also has a 0 balance and never been late.  That card has been in good standings since 2004.  Will i gain any points out from adding this to my credit history?

Thanks,

Re: Authorized User question

Probably, unless it adversly affects your average age, but the effect will go away from most CRs later this year (Probably.  Maybe.  Possibly)

And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Authorized User question

I dont think so. Did you provide them your social and other information when adding yourself?

Re: Authorized User question

Zales and Jcpenney is what i am adding.  9 POINTS is all i need.  I did talk to someone to add about 2-3 points it is kinda cool but if you go and remove yourself from those credit card offers it does give you points

Re: Authorized User question

I thought it was being changed so AUs are not factored in when calculating a FICO score due to companies starting to allow customers to "piggyback"? I thought it went into effect last Fall or maybe it's this Fall.

My sister has been an AU on my parent's BoA CC for six years, which has a CL of $15,000, has never been late and they both have a FICO score around 840. When she went to buy her car they said she didn't have any credit history. I would think if it made a difference being an AU, then there's no they way they would have denied her.
