Authorized User

If you're an authorized user on someone's credit card and that card is maxed out, does it negatively affect your credit score?

Yes, absolutely. The scoring penalty you are receiving for their maxed out utilization is no doubt outweighing any other age related, or other gains. I would ensure the owner gets their util. in check, or promptly remove yourself from that TL.

Re: Authorized User

I removed myself from the card that was at 97% use and my scores jumped 25 points.  I'm a little shocked at how much that helped.  Just paid off all of my cards as well and I'm patiently (not so patiently waiting) for my scores to update....

Thanks for your advice Smiley Happy

Big-time, unless it is discounted by the anti-abuse algorithm.
