So I got the Best Egg Loan Pre Approved Offer., yp to $40K. The letter said I can chekc my rate and it will not affect my credit. I went into their site and put in my email and Offer Code. Then it asked for my FULL Social Security Number. I closed the seesion. Why do they need that entire nunber for rate check/Soft Pull? Anyone else with experience on this one?
I did their prequal site after seeing a thread on here that was talking about their rates (good and bad). The rate they came back with for me for a $10,000 loan (just playing witht he site) was 24%. I did enter my full social. No inquiry on any of my reports. I didn't need the loan but because I'm in the post BK rebuilding stage I like to check all the prequal sites I can to kind of guage my progress. Haha.
Oh yes..completely uderstood! I would do the same thing if I was you. I was curous too, and wanted to play with their site, but whe nthey askd for full SS i got scared. I need to do a house re fi in June so can't take any chances. Thank you for letting me know about your experience!

Also try promise financial. Not for getting the loan but it will do a soft inq and also within minutes it will email you your TU Fico score (as of that moment). Good way to know your fico score without a hard pull and not spending any money.
Great idea! Thanks! ![]()
I can add I used one of the credit report checking sites (CK, Quizzle, etc... I don't remember which one) to check for pre-qual personal loans. About a month later, BestEgg sent me a denial letter. Too many new accounts in the last 30 days. No HP was performed.
Does anyone know what model they use? It says EX, but my FICO 08 and VS 3 scores are very similar.
