Re: Berks reaging problem.

Having a similar problem with TU.  Disputed item in Sept and updated to show 2 (30) days instead of 3 and a (1) 60 with GMAC.  Recently requested another report 11/27/07 and (3) 30 days are showing in totally different months from Sept report

I changed the wording a bit and faxed it in with the September credit report to show the change. Hopefully I'll get an answer like tomorrow saying they deleted it...or they'll take 30 days to say I'm screwed for another 7 years.

Don't app for anything till this is fixed.  Anything you app'd on hopefully you will still have time to recon pending a favorable outcome on the dispute.

Which CBRs was this reported on again? What reason did you use in the dispute and what method did you use (FACTA report or other, online or mail, 'not mine' or inaccurate etc)?

Is it still pending as of today?

Kind of late on the no app part. I found out AFTER I applied for some business things which checked my Experian. The other two deleted this account.

So AMEX, Chase and First Equity have all turned me down thanks to this account.

Disputed it as inaccurate by fax. Came back 3 days later as "Updated" but nothing was changed. Just this message.

BERKS CREDIT & COLL
BCCC240411493....
IF FRAUDULENT CHARGES WERE MADE ON YOUR ACCOUNT, THE CREDIT GRANTOR MAY NOT KNOW HOW TO CONTACT YOU TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER. THE CREDIT GRANTOR REQUESTS THAT YOU CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY-

Anyone who has dealt with Berks know they don't budge on anything and barely give you the time of day if you call them. They never reply to mail or anything.

I even mailed the CEO and he doesn't respond.

Probably never getting out of this hole. This was paid years ago and now they want to destroy my credit again.

Re: Berks reaging problem.

Insane.  You've tried on both CA side and CRA side with this particular one and are getting no where.  You tried...

MOV whatever CRA did the 3 day validation.  Read on here:  http://ficoforums.myfico.com/fico/board/message?board.id=generalcredit&message.id=6237

Re: Berks reaging problem.

That's actually my next move.
It's only Experian.

They did it last time I disputed it too.
I got a response in 1 day and thought it was a mistake.
Guess not.
They just didn't do anything.

There is a Palisades account there too but I'm pretty sure they won't respond in time. They've been backing down a lot lately. Probably because they don't have the info on accounts.

Wish I knew before I applied for those cards.

I have to figure out Equifax too because they have old chargeoffs with different dates from EX and TU and the last one won't drop until September where TU they're gone and EX they will be in February except these two which shouldn't be there at all.

I called Equifax and they said I disputed it 3 times so I have to go to the creditor or agency. Wish I recorded that call...that's not an MOV though for that is it? They just aren't disputing.

Re: Berks problem. Missing information

Hey berk
Just a question you never said how you paid the account and to whom. Did you settle with the collection company did you pay it in full to the collection company or did you end up paying the original company in full yourself.

fyi sometimes a company will report your activity while your account is active then once you stop making payments they may sell / send to a collection agency to collect for them at this point they the original creditor can either report it as delinquent x amount of days or it may continue to say paid as agreed but this same account will be reported as a collection on your report. That explains to me why you think because the report says paid as agreed in september and then collection as of October 2007 as being contradictory however it is in a sense but as far as in the credit bureau reporting world it isn't.  The previous comment explains both sections that are of concern to you
..so based on the pieces of information that you sent. I will say that is what happened.
I don't consider your account reaged per say because the time is within the 7 year period. and 2 years shy you will dispute it as such but for now what difference is it going to make really.

Re: Berks reaging problem.

Hey Berk
If you try to dispute an inquiry with TU they will laugh at you and send you a stupid letter.
They use to be pushovers...i remember when.....it wasn't that way now i guess with everybody and their mothers trying to get information changed they have gotten tougher...

Assuming Hey Berk was directed to me?

There is no activity. It was paid in full in 2004 or 2005 to Berks.

They changed it to a collection as of October 2007 and caused major damage to my credit and my business credit possibilities.

Re: Berks problem.

Good luck on MOV with EX. They have been jerks. I called and requested a MOV for a 30 day late that I was NOT late on. They said they would send in mail. All they sent in the mail was that I had already disputed the item and to contact the Creditor. I mailed them a letter back that they were in violation of the law and quoted the parts they were in violation of and quoted the part that they send to saying that they have to tell MOV and they ignore it and send crap out.

EX  and EQ stink. TU, they are my heroes.

Re: Berks problem.

I agree with you on EX and EQ. Experian even put a fraud alert on my account and didn't tell me. I found out because Truecredit said Equifax put an alert on me. I called Equifax and they said it was Experian who caused it. They seem to only do what they want to do but not to follow what they're supposed to do. Luckily TU isn't as prehistoric but they have some issues too like inquiries.

I sent a fax to see if they react, will send by mail if they don't.
