Re: Berks problem.

You tell me where that is?
Never heard of it....
I really don't believe that AT ALL.
but you know......I could be wrong...? (yeah right) lol

Re: Berks problem.

Happens all the time. Might be retribution on the part of the CRA's for what they consider annoying disputes.

Re: Berks problem.

I need the question answered.  My stance is that you cannot just have a fraud alert becuase you dispute fraudulent activity..YOU MUST MAKE THE REQUEST......
It is  feasible for me to believe that if you want for TU to investigate an inquiry  there would have to be evidence of a fraud. and they will be prompted to move if there is a fraud alert on your account.
I sent them a letter to investigate my inquiries..they sent me a couple of letters back literally to respond to what i was trying to do...didn't make sense to me becuase i don't think they gave me correct information...like i've said I've been dealing with credit bureaus for 14 years. hardly a new one you can pull over me... I take my experience........confidently........and it is rare that I am wrong..

Re: Berks problem.

The CRA's have been known to put an FA on with absolutely no input from the consumer.

Just as Sears MC/ Citi entered a dispute by consumer with all three CRA's, despite the fact that I NEVER disputed.

CRA's (and crditors) frequently do any d@mn thing that they want, like it or not.

Re: Berks problem.

I beg to differ..
very specific rules
can't just do it......people have laspsed brains sometimes..try to make you believe something that really isn't...look at some of the examples of people who have problems here..they will give you partial....and not the rest........
how many people have you heard of that will tell you that "they were not really late" and then you know they were...
how many people state "this is not mine" when disputing an account
now do you still beleive that...
I will call and I will ask for the rules........that is the way......I will go by that..
usually collection agencies...HAVE THE RIGHT information that a person owes on a bill unless it is truly fraud related
the only thing that I notice incorrect from collection agencies are the dates of delinquencies....other than that....they have verifiable information................
In my life i've kept many things from being a collection on my account......PERIOD...
Collection companies are my friends.......lol.
in a sense it is true...

Re: Berks problem.

Sherry you keep saying it can't be done.
I always thought the same thing.

But it was done to me.

I can't argue that fact anymore.
Have to figure out why...

But for some reason it doesn't show on my Experian, just Equifax. Equifax said they got the news from Experian so it's not making sense.

Maybe I should see if there's a way to use this to my advantage.

Re: Berks problem.

no they don't get it from equifax.
they don't even share information from report to report.....
the one thing that they do share that I can think of is the responsibility to notify the other two credit bureaus when there is a.....
FRAUD ALERT

Re: Berks problem.

Well Experian notified Equifax.
It came straight from the Equifax fraud department.
Haven't called TU because there's nothing on my report, not that I see anyway.
Wrote Experian a not so nice letter to remove any fraud alerts if they have one on my account because again, don't see anything on my report.
Equifax had it as a consumer statement which I noticed right away.

The only thing I can think of is number of disputes or disputing inquiries.
2 of my disputes did come back with responses saying they didn't think the dispute came from me so they weren't investigating.
