Bogus collection showing up on CR

I have a bogus collection from a collection agency listed as "RPM", listing the original creditor as "For Pallino".

The only reason I found out about this is because I purchased my credit reports and found it on there. It lists it as a joint credit account, of which I've never had in my life, which is how I know it's GOT to be bogus.

I've never even been sent any letters or anything from these people trying to collect, they've never even called me trying to collect. How do I get rid of these scammers?

Thanks in advance!

Dispute all with the CRA

DV the CA   CMRRR.....add to the letter for validation: complete documentation including my signiture and account history.

DO NO SIGN IT...just type everything.

signatures have been known to be scanned and forged onto documents by CA.

Now that's definitely sleazy. I wish the law was a bit more responsive in dealing with these people.

Re: Bogus collection showing up on CR

That is correct.....The only time that you sign any letters is for the CRA

It takes only 2 min.  to copy a signiture.

Re: Bogus collection showing up on CR

So I just looked again and it looks like this bogus "new collection" is set to drop off 4 months from now. Should I just leave it alone and see what happens to avoid what could happen if I start the whole investigation process?

sounds like 1 CA sold an old debt to another CA....IF you are not looking to refi or purchases anything new I would just let it drop.   keep a close eye on all CR  IF it reappears  then go after them.
