CC with no employment?

I am a homemaker, my husband has a good job.  I need a good credit card to help increase my score!  I got one through 1st Bank of Delaware (Continental Finance) but it only has a $300 CL, and according to the CBs, that is negatively affecting my score.  Does anyone know how or where to get one with a limit of more than $1000 that would be in MY name?

Re: CC with no employment?

with no employment that could be tough to get one in your name only under the conditions you want.   Unless someone knows a cc company that overlooks that without having to pay insane fees, your best bet maybe to start with a secured card, that way you can gradually build up your own credit limit.
I recommend either Orchard Bank or  Bank of America, they offer the lowest fee's.   I know BoA is a $29 a year fee and that's it.   Be very diligent.    always look at the fee's attached even if you get a company that is willing to give you a larger credit line/ unsecured card, READ  the fine print, you want to stay away from the One time processing fee's of $99,  and montly maintenance fee of $10 and a annual fee of $80 etc.   After everything is said and done with it's not worth it to be paying all these fees and would be spending less annually with a secured card.

Sometimes you have to take baby steps and there is nothing wrong with starting with a secured card.

My wife, with similar scores, got $5,500 with GE CareCredit using HHI.
