Can I/should I write a non PP letter?

I have a Juniper and a Barclay Bank inquiry on my Credit reports from 01/07 (due to come off 01-09) through deceptive means.

I was in an airport coming home and a lady had a stand in front of one of the airlines ticket taker person's desk, where you board the airplanes...with stuff animals. I was walking slowly and she asked if I wanted a bear. Make a long story short..I was signing up for something. Can't remember now...but I distinctly remember telling her not to run my credit report and I don't want a credit card because I have bad credit and that would only make it worse. She assured me that she wouldn't and it wasn't about a credit card. Well, she lied to me. I remember coming home and a few weeks later getting a denial letter from some credit card company. I didn't think a whole lot of it at the time because I didn't fully realize the importance of all of this credit stuff. Now I am furious, but I know it was my fault for giving my social sec. number to her. I know, I know...very stupid. However, she went ahead and ran a credit report by lying to me and then basically signing me up for a credit card without my permission or knowledge.

Is there any recourse I can take since it is so long ago? A GW letter or a non PP letter or something? Or is this a live and learn type of deal? Juniper or Barclay Bank was no where to be seen on her computer screen that I was looking at.

This is the only thing I can think of about that time.

Despite her lying to you, their defense will be that your sig is on the application, and they did warn you in the fine print.
Hard inqs lose all value at the 1-yr mark. They remain for another year, but have zero effect on your score. So, it would be a wasted effort at this point because it's not actually bringing your score down anymore.
Sorry 'bout the bum scoop though. That's so predatory -- a bear in an airport. Gotta really really be careful about things like that. My DH was denied a Cap1 loan back in Nov last year for the very fact that he had too many inqs! His score was qualifying, but the lender said they couldn't approve with that many inqs.. he had 13 in four months b/c we had just bought two new cars & the dealership prostituted his scores. GRRR
