I only have a $600 CL on my QS, and was wondering if C1 looks favorably upon card members using bill pay to push a payment to them?
I will be at ~20% utilization if I don't pay it down before the statement cuts. The charge hasn't even posted. I was wondering what would happen if I would push the money to them, as the charge is still pending and C1 won't let me pay it.

I don't think that they will care or "look" favorably/not favorably at using your bank's bill pay
A lot of people use bill pay for a lot of different reasons so it is one of the "standard" ways of paying.

They most likely couldn't care less how you pay them so long as they get paid on time. I pay all my bills through my CU's bill pay service and have never had an issue with anyone.

It probably won't work out like you want it to. If you're trying to get the payment to post earlier and get the statement to cut at 0, it's probably not. You set up your bill pay, it takes a day to get to Cap One, it takes another day for Cap One to process it, then another day for the payment to post.
Nothing out of the ordinary happens from my experience. I just push the billpay payment from whatever institution and it posts before statement cut, and all is well.

They don't care. Of course you should push a payment to them if you want to pay it.

@FreedomHammerI have pushed payments to Cap1 on many occasions for different reasons with no negative effects. Cap1 is one of those cards that won't let you pay extra through their payment system so I understand the inability to pay more when you want.
I have a few cards that let you pay a small amount over and some where you can only pay what's posted. Whenever I have an annual fee (which only appears on statement cut date) I push the amount for that date to keep a zero balance for reporting purposes if that is what's needed at the time.
It all worked out.
The pending charge dropped off, and I locked the card until the merchant sorts this out.
@Iusedtolurk That's a good idea with pushing a payment for the annual fee. I don't know when my Amex Green Card will bill the annual fee, but I will be ready to push a payment.

@FreedomHammerIf you have had your Amex for more than a year just check your statements from the prior year to see when it was billed.
If not just make sure you check your monthly statements most if not all notify you a month before it is billed.

With AENB, the AF typically posts on the cycle date. Since the cycle date can be variable, you may need to check prior YTD statements or activity to see when it was posted. If you received a promotion where the first year AF was waived, then it will likely bill around the time you were approved. You can always push a payment from your bank ahead of time if you wish to do so. It will sit as a credit until the AF posts.
