Capital One reported CL wrong after dispute !!

So, my partner is car shopping presently after a total loss, and wants to maximize scoring of course, so he started a dispute on one of the Capital One cards that has a $10,000 CL and was showing a $6000 balance.  The balance was paid to $0 literally the same day the statment cut, but the statement picked up the $6000 instead of $0 - probably due to system timing.  Anyway, this was on Wednesday -- today (3 days later even WITH the holiday!) recieved emailed results that it had been updated by CapOne -- except now they reported a $0 balance on a $1,000 CL - not the $10,000 line it is!

Panicked, he called CapOne immediately to confirm no AA or CLD had ocurred (which Capital One is pretty much known to almost never do, but better safe!) - sure enough, the line is still $10,000 on their system as well as our apps/online portal.  $10,000 - staring right back at us.  So, either their computer missed a 0 on reporting the CL back to the bureaus, or a person manually entered wrong -- not sure how electronic disputes are handled, people or computers.  Anyway, Capital One Sr Rep requested the update immediately thru their Credit department to update as soon as possible, but to be safe my partner also re-disputed the credit line now to hopefully update over the next few days.  That $9,000 hit affected UTIL of course -- so now we wait again.  Will not be applying for the loan until ALL balances and CL update as correct, all other balances cycle by the 7th of December as $0 (we paid a ton down) so this will be the last dispute....but what a GUMP!!!  One thing after another, I'll tell ya!

Anyone ever see this happen?  Fix balance but then the CL reports wrong?  I read on CB others have had it occur, so not as panicked as before LoL!
