Hello,
One week ago I paid off the remaining balance of my Chase Amazon card, and was hoping that the $0 balance would trigger an off cycle update to the CRAs (had read several forum posts here about the 0-balance trigger). One week later, no updates, so I called and spoke with two separate CSRs who told me that they only report once per month "a few days after the statement closing date." Has anyone else been told or observed the same? Or alternatively, has anyone been able to successfully request an off/mid-cycle update?
My Amazon Prime card has reported off cycle multiple times when I've paid it to $0 after the new statement cut.
Yeah, that seems to be the prevailing narrative I've heard around here. I paid off a chunk at the beginning of this month, due date was the 9th, then paid off the remaining balance last week, and no report update since Feb 11th.

If your due date was the 9th, I would assume that the cycle date was the 12th? Is there currently a balance on the account? On what day did you pay the remaining portion?

You are correct, cycle date was the 12th. No current balance, remaining portion was paid on the 15th of this month.
My last Chase Amazon mid-cycle reporting was on 1/10/2022, right in the middle of the cycle. I intentionally triggered it by paying down the balance to $0. Around 5 days later, I was able to verify it with Credit Karma that Chase reported to the bureaus.

Interesting, well I will keep an eye on my Credit Karma in the coming days. Strange that when I was talking to the CSRs I even mentioned the $0 balance trigger and neither one acknowledged or even hinted at this being a policy? Very weird.

I've observed the opposite with my Chase cards. Shortly after I pay them down to zero they report to the bureaus.

I'd be VERY surprised if these csr's know anything about reporting, or anything beyond the basics. Paying down to zero still works with Chase. Since the start of the Pandemic and even more in the last 6 months reporting has been SLOW
